Let's Remember Than Law's Meant for All
EDITOR, THE UNION: As a resident of Chula Vista, I'd like to put in my 2 cents for the Police Department.
I, personally, don't believe the stories of brutality by the police. When a police officer enters a scene, he should be paid the fullest respect, for we put him in his uniform to protect us and our children. If any of us disobeys him in any way, he must use force to bring us into line.
The idea of a drunken brawl in our community is disgraceful! Fisticuffs and swinging beer bottles never settled any argument.
It is a sad situation and my deepest sympathy to the Lay family and friends, but for the sake of justice, let's examine the facts more thoroughly before we become bitter. We certainly don't want a panty-waist police department.
Some of us become bitter over a past citations by law were meant for all of us, not just the other fellow.
